If you suffer a catastrophic impairment and a substantial inability to engage in the caregiving activities in which you engaged at the time of the accident, you may be eligible to receive caregiver benefits.
At the time of the accident, you must have been the primary caregiver for the person in need of care, resided with the person and not paid for such caregiving activities.
If this is the case, you could receive $250.00 per week for the first person in need of care and an additional $50.00 per week for each additional person in need of care. The test to receive caregiver benefits changes two years following the accident to require you to suffer a complete inability to carry on a normal life.
